Our team

Khandallah Physiotherapy Centre is a large practice comprising Khandallah Physiotheraphy and Churton Park Physiotherapy, and all of our team of physiotherapists are well qualified and highly experienced. Our team is committed to continuing education, frequently holding professional development meetings, and regularly attending courses and conferences.

The team has experience mainly in New Zealand practices, but also in practices and hospitals as far afield as London. A number of the team have owned their own practices and all the team are members of Physiotherapy New Zealand, our professional association.

The team works closely with GPs, sports physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, ACC case managers, whanau, and employers.

Kirsten Davie
Kirsten DavieDip Phys, Dip MT, Adv. Prac. MT, MBA (dist.), MPNZ
Kirsten is the principal at Khandallah Physiotherapy Centre having started the business in 1992. She is an Advanced Practitioner of Manipulative Therapy. Kirsten has been a past president of Physiotherapy New Zealand and currently assists on the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapists Association's post graduate courses. She is responsible for the strategic management of the business while also performing a clinical role within the practice.

Laura Willson
Laura WillsonBPhty, BSc (Human Nutrition) BPhEd, MPNZ
Laura graduated from University of Otago in 2005 with bachelor degrees in Physiotherapy, Physical Education and Human Nutrition. She has worked in private practise and hospitals within New Zealand and Australia. Laura has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and sports injury rehabilitation and has previously worked with provincial sports teams. Outside work Laura keeps active through swimming, mountain biking and keeping up with her two young children.
Laura is currently on maternity leave.

Kate Lynskey
Kate LynskeyDip Phys, MPNZ
Kate has been a qualified physiotherapist for over 20 years. She has worked mainly in private physiotherapy practices both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Her area of expertise is manual therapy, clinical Pilates and exercise prescription. Kate enjoys working with clients to help them gain their full functional potential while empowering them to maintain an active lifestyle.

Angelique van Hattem
Angelique van HattemBPhty, BSc, MPNZ
We are thrilled that Angelique has joined us at Khandallah Physiotherapy. Her area of interest is musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Alongside working two days a week at Khandallah, she also provides physiotherapy in the post-surgical orthopaedic wards at Bowen Hospital. Angelique has a passion for different cultures, speaking four languages, as well as enjoying yoga, cycling and walking.

Brianna Joyes
Brianna JoyesBPhty, MPNZ
Having graduated from Otago University Brianna's keen interest is musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. In addition to working with the Khandallah Physiotherapy team, Brianna contracts to the Wellington Rugby Union providing physiotherapy to both the men's and women's high performance programmes. Brianna is a keen sportsperson, having been involved at a competitive level in netball, basketball, volleyball and touch rugby. We are very fortunate to have Brianna as part of our physiotherapy team.

Rebecca Peace
Rebecca PeaceBPhty, PGCertPhty (sport), MPNZ
Rebecca has recently moved up to Wellington from Invercargill to join the Khandallah Physiotherapy team. Having graduated from the University of Otago in 2015, Rebecca has a keen interest in working with sports teams, such as rugby and netball, as well as post- surgery rehabilitation. Rebecca is currently studying for a post-graduate diploma in sports and exercise medicine. Outside of work Rebecca enjoys walking, exploring her new home city and baking.

Tom Eminson
Tom EminsonBPhty, BSc, MPNZ
Tom graduated from Otago University with Bachelor degrees in both Science and Physiotherapy before starting work as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. We are very fortunate to have Tom join our team having relocated from the Kapiti Coast. He has a special interest in working with athletes of any level or stage of recovery. Tom has worked with both Team Wellington (football) and Capital Futsal. Tom has experience in bio-mechanical and functional assessment, spinal injuries, and chronic pain. He continues to pursue post-graduate training in orthopaedic manual therapy and trigger point dry needling.

Anne Bramley
Anne BramleySince graduating from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physical Education (honours), Anne has worked both as a swimming teacher and commercial caving guide. Exercise is an integral part of Anne's lifestyle and as such she enjoys applying the principles of Pilates for fitness, well-being and relaxation. Anne lives in Khandallah and is enjoying working in her local community. We are very fortunate to have Anne taking Pilates classes for Khandallah Physiotherapy.

Judy Chan
Judy ChanWe are privileged to have Judy working for us as an exercise therapist. Judy originally trained as a physiotherapist and as such she has excellent skills and experience to run Pilates classes. Judy is passionate about health and fitness and as a Pilates instructor she creates and tailors exercises so they suit the needs of the class participants. Alongside the Pilates classes that Judy is providing in Khandallah, she also runs the aquatherapy programmes at Keith Spry Pool for the Wellington City Council.

Karen Good
Karen GoodKaren is originally from Ireland but has lived in New Zealand for several years and enjoys New Zealand's relaxed outdoor lifestyle, and being near the sea. Karen is keen on sport and has worked in the sports recruitment business. She has practiced Pilates for over 16 years and enjoys taking classes. Karen has recently transitioned from a full-time professional career in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors to a lifestyle where she can balance her work with more regular exercise and a community focus. We are very fortunate to have Karen taking Pilates classes for the practice.
